Q-Kayak’s “Tasman Express” Liteweight Sea Kayak
The Tasman Express, from New Zealand’s leading kayak manufacturer, is an exceptional performance sea kayak. At 5.3 metres long, this sleek craft has been designed to maintain a good forward speed, especially when loaded up with gear. Its low profile and flared bow enables it to perform extremely well in adverse or windy conditions.
An aerodynamic rudder blade is fitted to prevent drag and increase forward speed and turning performance.
A centre "storage box" is moulded in just behind the cockpit. The wall thickness of the box is only 2mm, allowing for much more storage area, while providing a watertight compartment with easy access.

Q-Kayak’s Liteweight Kayaks have the same set-up as the standard models, except that the polyethylene construction is in three layers. Although the plastic is thicker, the centre layer has been foamed so that the actual weight is lighter and the foam core produces exceptional stiffness. This results in a more rigid kayak that is lighter, making for much more responsive sea kayak. The foam core also provides extra floatation and insulation from the cold water.
